The Genelec 5040A is an ultra-compact active subwoofer that's designed to pair perfectly with up to five 6010A powered monitors. When you add it to your system - surround or not - you can use the 5040A's included remote volume control to adjust all the speakers and even take charge of versatile acoustic controls. The Genelec 5040A subwoofer sports a magnetically-shielded 6.5" bass driver and a 40-watt amplifier with crossover filter circuitry - working together to pack a respectable 96dB maximum SPL. At the heart of the Genelec 5040A is its magnetically shielded, downward-firing 6.5" bass driver, which is attached to a die-cast aluminum bass plate. That bass plate also acts as the chassis for the 5040A's 40-watt amplifier and crossover circuitry.
